The Bath Arms Horningsham – Review

When my husband and I find somewhere good to eat, that place then tends to be the ONLY place we visit for months on end. We feel that if you’re paying, what can amount to the cost of a weekly shop, on one meal, then you need to be sure that it’s money well spent… am I right?

Our recent fave happens to be The Bath Arms at Longleat in Horningsham, neatly tucked in to the Wiltshire countryside.

We have been going to Longleat for years, and have often passed the Bath Arms on our way home, saying the usual ” we must pop in there for a drink, to see what it’s like”, and In July last year, we did just that, and have been going there ever since

There is a such a friendly atmosphere here, where both children & dogs are not only welcome, but encouraged, and In moments of madness, when we have decided to allow our offspring to tag along, they have been treated beautifully, and have had a great experience.

There is a small bar on entry which is well stocked with choices to suit everyone & more than enough gin to keep me happy. We usually eat outside in the beautiful garden, which has large tables complete with  parasols big enough to cover them & and always a bowl of water for your pup, there is a lawned area to the rear of the seating, with a few bench style tables, which my youngest loves to use as her own, to run around and burn off excess energy.

We Recently decided that The Bath Arms would be the perfect choice for my birthday meal and due to rain we sat inside. It was a lovely room with old features and a large painting of the current ‘Lord Bath’ himself looking over us. We were taken to our table, which had a tall glass bottle of chilled water waiting for us, and a delicate hydrangea nestled beautifully in a carafe for decoration.

We were presented with the evening menu. There were enough options to make our mouths water and it took us at least 15 minutes to decide what to eat. We didn’t go for a starter as I was certain that I would opt for a pud,  and so, we went straight for our main meal.

The food came to us quickly. It was hot, beautifully presented, and tasted superb! My husband went for the pork and I opted for the sea bass *insert imoji heart eyes here.. It was delicious. After another gin & this time, a coke for the driver, we had desert on our minds, I enjoyed a lovely Eton mess and the fella had a passion fruit tart with ginger ice cream, they were both exceptional. We decided not to stay for coffee as we were more than full.

We had a great evening and cannot wait to go back.

The Bath Arms also offers accommodation, so if you are planning to visit Wiltshire, I highly recommend staying here, if the food and service are anything to go by, it will be well worth it.

Visit their website here

They have their own blog on the website, which is also worth checking out.

Thanks so much for reading lovelies.
